Time Warner Cable Arena, built by the City of Charlotte, is home to the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, the AHL's Charlotte Checkers and is the area’s destination for popular concerts and events. Building a large scale sports and entertainment arena is a huge undertaking and the group’s IT organization was actively involved in each aspect of the build, even while temporarily housed in several different buildings throughout Charlotte in order to maintain operations. One of the last phases of construction would be the design and implementation of the Voice and Data converged Network inside the arena. All of the organizations involved realized that for this critical component they would need a professional services partner that could assist with finishing the project on time and on budget.
What We Did
rmsource’s professional services teams designed and implemented an Extreme Networks solution inside the Time Warner Cable Arena. The network was fully redundant and configured for Voice/Data convergence with quality of service feature sets. After this phase of the project was successfully completed, we were able to assist the IT organization with the consolidation of all of its operations back under one roof. Once the move in was complete, rmsource was asked to begin an ongoing support relationship.
With the assistance from our professional services team, the IT organization was able to focus on supporting day to day arena operations while rmsource supported the infrastructure. Over the years, rmsource has continued to execute on numerous modernization projects for the Hornet’s Microsoft infrastructure as well as data storage, data backups and IT security systems.
